Concepts, techniques, and skills in how to diagnose or use International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision (ICD-9) codes to describe an illness, injury or condition of a patient. Includes International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM) codes that are universally accepted and used by both carriers and providers. Includes ICD-9 codes that are 3-, 4- or 5-digit codes and are required by Medicare in the highest level of specificity in order to get a claim paid. Overview and hands-on experience with pharmacy database software to apply knowledge of critical topics outlined by the Pharmacy Certification Training Board.
